Student Support Services: A Federal TRIO Program

Our Purpose

TRIO PROGRAMS help make college accessible to all citizens of the United States and specialize in helping:

  • First-Generation college students
  • Students from low-income backgrounds
  • Students with a disability

Who We Serve

Our program at UNI serves 200 UNI participants each year; those participants continue to access our services as long as they are UNI undergraduates.

To participate,  undergraduates must complete an application to determine eligibility based on:

  • Family Income
  • Parental educational attainment
  • Need for academic support
  • Those with documented disabilities and military veterans are also encouraged to apply
